Installing

One of the parts of my job is installing the graphics I create. This is great because it can get me away from my desk or out of the office for a little bit. As much as I love designing, it is nice being able to work hands-on as well.

There is more that goes into installing than someone would initially think. It is a lot of measuring, positioning, remeasuring, and so on. It is very easy for a graphic to become crooked or look ever-so-slightly off. This is why it is important to know what the graphic needs to be aligned to. Windows and walls are easy because they’re flat surfaces, but vehicles are different. They have body lines and if the graphic is positioned to be level with the ground, the body lines will make it look crooked because they run on different angles.

There’s too much that goes into installing to fit all in one post, so I hope you’ve found this little glimpse into it interesting.
